"DUE SEASON"

As we struggle through these tough economic conditions and hear of the destruction and devastation around the world, many have become discouraged, fearful and doubtful of what tomorrow holds. Doubt has always been an enemy of faith, it creates delay and delay can cause us to miss the doors of opportunities that God has opened for us. Doors represent access, protection and entrance. The bible said that the five foolish virgins returned to the wedding and found the doors shut; they missed their opportunity to enter the blessings of God. The Lord has set before his people an open door that no man can shut (Rev.3:8).

However, we too must be able to be like the sons of Issachar, men that understood the times, men that knew what to do. Hesitation and procrastination can cause us to miss our due season of what God has ordained for us. As there are natural doors, there are also spiritual doors. John on the island of Patmos and Ezekiel in a vision, both witnessed spiritual doors opening. We must continue to stay faithful and prayerful that we may run into our season. As popular as the song may be “walk into your season”, I believe there must be urgency in moving into the things of God. We shouldn’t walk, we should run (Gen.18:2)!

Gal.6:9 says, “let us not get weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not”. The word due in the Greek translation is “idios”, meaning pertaining to self, one’s own self; the idea is moving into one’s own season. Season is the proper time, of opportunity… your time.

Perhaps before you have gone into a department store, you noticed as you got within a certain proximity of the front door, it opened automatically or shall I say in due time. If there has ever been a time to move in the timing and obedience of the Spirit of God it is now! One of the ministries of the Holy Spirit is to guide us through difficult times and to assist us in finding the will of God for our lives. I challenge you to remain faithful and allow the spirit of God to lead you into due season.
